Below are the questions we are asked most often about recovering a debt: what we need from you to get started, how a case is assessed, what it costs and how you are kept informed.
If your question is not answered here, speak with our enforcement team directly on 0333 772 9342 and we will talk it through with you.
We are a nationwide debt enforcement group. Our teams have over 40 years’ combined experience within credit control and debt enforcement litigation matters, supported by over 600 on the road face-to-face agents, full in-house assessment teams, full in-house dedicated legal teams, robust expert collection teams and personal case management officers.
When traditional debt collection methods fail, our expert Enforcement Skills enable us to prompt immediate engagement from individuals or businesses that have been ordered to pay money.
We work differently. We do not send letters out to debtors hoping for them to respond, make a couple of phone calls to discuss the debt, waste time with fabricated excuses as to why they cannot pay, notify them that our officers will be attending on such a date, or give them time to move goods or assets.
We specialise in a variety of debts nationwide, business and personal. These include commercial debts, service agreement debts, goods supplied debts, corporate debts, business loan debts, tenancy debts and disputed debts, as well as business to business debt recovery.
If you agreed to supply goods or carry out work, you did it, and the invoice has not been paid, that is a trade debt — and the paperwork you already hold is the evidence for it.
It makes no difference whether your customer trades as a limited company or under their own name. A sole trader is still a business, so the debt is still a trade debt.
We will always look at one and tell you where you stand. Regulated consumer credit and hire agreements are not work we carry out ourselves, so those we place with specialists who handle that side.
Where the agreement has ended and the debt comes back stripped of the interest charged under it, that is a different matter — we can take it on ourselves. Send it over and we will tell you straight away which of the two you have.
Speak with us today and tell us about the debts you are owed. All we need to know is your details, the person or company that owes you the debt and some basic information about the debtor.
Yes. Our in-house team will conduct additional background checks on your debtor, including a financial background check. A pre-assessment will then be given to you on the collect-ability of the debt and what stages we can take to ensure the debt is collectable.
Supporting documents include invoices, credit notes, payment reminders and other records of communication with your debtor. The more you provide, the stronger your case becomes.
On a trade debt that we take on, nothing. We do not charge our clients. Once your case has passed our due diligence and know your customer checks and we agree to act, our costs are factored into the recovery rather than billed to you.
The assessment that comes first is free and puts you under no obligation.
Not in every case. Under section 72 schedule 12 (taking control of goods) a commercial landlord can recover rent payable under the lease of the tenant without the need to go to court.
Where a judgement or an Order for Possession has already been made, it can be transferred to the High Court for enforcement. Tell us about your debt and we will explain which route applies to you.
You will not be. Where we have accepted a trade debt there is no invoice to you at any stage, because our costs are carried by the recovery itself. If a case ever falls outside that, we will tell you plainly what it involves first, and nothing goes ahead until you say so.
Our assessment team will take full control of the situation and assess whether the dispute is resolvable or whether the debtor is using it as a delay tactic to avoid payment. Once a dispute has been resolved there is no reason or excuse for the debtor not to pay the debt or debts owed.
You will have full reporting step by step and a personal case manager to assist you from start to finish until the debt is successfully collected. You can receive status updates by email, review collection activities and get in contact with your account manager.
Yes. You can place new collection cases while we work on your current case.
We are a non-regulated business that only conducts non-regulated activities.
